| Congrads Caps and Wings | | The Caps are going to win The President's Cup and The Wings made the playoffs for the 20th straight year! wow! Both are amazing1 Before Ovie, Backstrom, and Semin the only way the Caps could get to the playoffs was to buy a ticket! And as for the Wings? 20 straight years1 There are marriages that don't last that long! so Kudos to the Caps and The Red Wings. Are you ready for the playoffs? | |
| | "Home Swede Home", the headline caption on our Sunday Free Press... | | Here in Detroit, we have the Sunday paper which you either get the Detroit News or Free Press.... today we got the free press and the headlines on the front page is "Home Swede Home". A reference to our Detroit Red Wings, We have 7 sweden players on our team this year...back in the 90s we had the Russian 5... its always something exciting for those of us here in "Hockeytown" Detroit, Mi. The official NHL season starts this week, and I was wondering how many are getting ready for the hockey season to start?? I myself love a good hockey game and cant wait to see a game or two--I love watching them on tv... how about you? | |

| Red Wings Re-Sign Hasek to a one year contract | | According to detnews.com, the Red Wings have re-signed Hasek to a one year deal worth $2 million plus the option to earn up to another $2 in bonuses. I'm very happy that Hasek was re-signed. It wasn't looking very good for awhile, especially when the rumors surfaced that the Wings were starting to look at other free agent goaltenders. | |
| | These are not My Red Wings! | | My Red Wings play a tough, clean, fast paced game. They may be small in size but they can play any big team. They may not start a fight but they wil finish it. They finish their checks. They play with a passion regardless of the score. They may have lost to The Ducks but they wouldn't have played a flat, boring game like tonight.I am a huge Brendan Shanahan and Stevie Y fan. So when they were gone I wondered if The Red Wings wolud be able to maintain their excellence.I guess not. Why did they fall apart? Was It Hasek? Was it Babcock? Was it the lack of Scnieder?I don't know. | |

| Will the Red Wings bounce back? | | After losing yesterday's game in overtime in a game where they completely dominated, will the Red Wings be able to bounce back and win games 6 and 7? It's ashame that a bad bounce with less than a minute left spoiled the game. The winning goal was really bad to watch...I could tell that it was trouble as soon as the puck was brought out in front of the net. I'm trying to stay positive. There is a bit of semi-recent playoff history for them to fall back on. In 2002, the Wings were down 3-2 against the Avalanche. They won both games to move on to the cup finals. If memory serves me correctly, I believe that both of those games were shutouts by Hasek.GO WINGS! Bring the series back to Detroit! | |
| | Western Conference Finals - Kopecky to return for Game 3 | | According to an article on freep.com, Tomas Kopecky is going to be back in the lineup for Game 3. He's replacing Kyle Calder, who was rather quiet in the first two games.Hopefully this gives the Wings a bit more drive. He should be well rested, since he hasn't played since he broke his clavicle back in December. Hopefully he's all healed up and can provide a bit more size and grit on the ice. | |
